Vacationing with the Family Part 1-Thessaloniki

The end of our adventure here in Greece is the best part-my parents are here with us and we will be touring around Greece for three weeks before heading back to Thessaloniki and packing up to leave on July 8th.

My parents arrived in Thessaloniki the Monday before the last day of school (June 9th). While Miller and I finished up the school year, they toured around the city with Ben, checking out all of our favorite places like Virgina, Pella, the daily markets, the White Tower, downtown, and of course the promenade.

In the evenings, we joined them for sunset walks and good food at our favorite restaurants (we couldn't pass up on last meals at our favorite places of course!). On one of our walks, we saw a full on brass band playing and dancing.

We also finally took photos with the tourist famous umbrellas on the promenade. Up until now, we had held off, because we were living and working in the city. We didn't feel like tourist and we didn't want to feel like ones. With the end of the school year, however, we officially became tourists. Taking a photo with the umbrellas seemed like the perfect way to end our time living in the city.

We will spend the next three weeks touring around Greece. Our first stop is Ioanninia!
